Meet Jackie

A WOMAN OF FAITH, A MOM, A LIFELONG EDUCATOR, AND INCUMBENT SCHOOL BOARD MEMBER DELIVERING RESULTS FOR ALL STUDENTS.
As the title of this section states, I am a woman of faith, a proud mom of a 17-year-old son, a lifelong educator, and a school board member working hard to deliver results for all students in the School District of Indian River County. I am an avid advocate for school choice. I believe parents know what is best for their child/ren. I value the efforts of our public schools and am proud of the progress we've achieved so far.
With more than three decades of educational experience as a teacher, school administrator, and now school board member, I have experience in setting and creating policies and procedures, managing school personnel, supervising teachers, and overseeing curriculum, professional development, and instruction. I have worked with professional educators on a team to write school improvement plans, set strategic goals to improve student achievement, and create steps to.
I fully support a parent's right to choose the best educational environment for their child/ren. Ensuring this district has true school choice was one of the platforms I am proud to have advocated for nearly eight years. Our school district now offers all children true school choice with transportation if needed. As a result, school choice is a reality for every child in Indian River County Schools. Additionally, my support for charter and virtual schools never wavered.
I am running for the school board again to continue the important work I've started, aiming to bring positive change and make a difference in the lives of all children, which is my life's mission. School board members are essential to a community's success, making budgetary decisions, setting strategic plans, and establishing policies that guide our district's efforts. We play a critical role in hiring and overseeing the superintendent and the board. I will stay focused on policy issues, school safety, instruction, innovation, assessments, and the culture in our schools and district office. I remain committed to responsible fiscal management and accountability, and I appreciate our superintendent's recognition of my efforts to ask questions and hold his team accountable.
I am committed to persistently working towards my elected goals by advocating for transparency, aligning our budget with strategic plans, and engaging parents as partners in education. Continuing to serve my constituents, I support parental rights, ensure that schools are safe for all children, and carefully research agenda items. I oppose any curriculum or policies that do not reflect the values of Indian River County, Florida State Statutes, the Florida Constitution, or the rules and directives of the Florida Department of Education. These commitments form the basis of my campaign as the most qualified candidate for School Board Member in District 2, and I hope to earn your vote on August 18, 2026.

Qualification and Experience
As the incumbent School Board Member, I understand the significance of wading through the waters to effect change, ultimately raising academic success for all children. Throughout the pandemic, we realized our priorities needed to shift rather quickly from in-person learning to online virtual spaces. Now, we face the realities of decreasing enrollment and reorganizational challenges. As a result, we still have a lot of work to do. This is why I am running for re-election as a School Board Member: to continue the upward momentum we have created toward academic innovation, support school choice options, and ensure every student reaches their full potential.
My core principles are rooted in common sense governance, limited government, local control, freedom of school choice, fiscal responsibility, and equal opportunities for ALL students to receive a high-quality education.
I hope to earn your support and vote on August 18, 2026.
